Praying your calendar

Friday, May 11, 2007

I saw a great post over at PastorHacks on Pray your Calendar.... At the moment my calendar is fairly busy what with all the usual clubs, groups, and other stuff, but at the moment we have also had extra assemblies and lessons, and about to start visits to the church for 250 year 7 pupils.
Take time out to look at what you will be doing in the next few days and spend that time to pray through it. Pray for the people and the setting, be it a meeting, lesson, youth group, one-to-one.

Bob goes on to write the following:

Pray for the open spaces. Pray that God would give you a beautiful mix of time to think and dream, time to pray, time to rest and a little, tiny bit of time to "waste."

Pray for your Study time. Pray that you will be smart enough to protect it. Pray that God would grant you a clear head and a purposeful heart during those times. Pray that God would grant you the grace to speak needed words to your community which point them towards Jesus.
Pray for your mornings and evenings - that you would bookend your work days with good time with family and good time with God.
