Youth lingo

Just been watching Big Brother, with Tracey telling Lesley what Phat means (good, top stuff, etc if you didn't know), and Lesley asking if there was a thin (no there isn't - at least that I'm aware of)! Quite a funny but painful moment. It is at this point that Big Brother does its job as a social experiment, in this case highlighting the differences in cultures.
Language changes so quickly it is often hard to stay up with it, but as a Children's and Youth Worker it is fairy important to at least have a clue what young people are saying so you understand what they are saying to you, and to their friends in the middle of groups.
