The White Stripes play for Chelsea Pensioners
Wednesday, June 13, 2007
Bizarrely rock band The White Stripes gave an exclusive gig for the Chelsea Pensioners! The unusual gig took place in the State Apartments where Mozart once performed. Proceeds from a gig last night went towards the Chelsea Pensioners' Appeal and help build a new care home at the site.
Unsurprisingly, one Chelsea pensioner said: "I thought it was excellent. It's not my scene really because it's a different type of music altogether but I thought they were very very good."
Another admitted: "It was nice but I wouldn't go out of my way to listen to them."
