Big Ben goes quiet

How ironic, after I post on the topic of time, I remembered that Big Ben was stopped and silenced today. Every five years it is cleaned and given a health check and repaired and this is it. This time it includes the replacement of the bearings that sound the chimes on the hour and every quarter of an hour. The clock will continue to tell the time, but the bell won't sound again until September. 0 comments:
