Volunteer Rotation: The Solution for Today’s Ministry?

Friday, February 01, 2008

Two veteran children’s ministers sound off on the pros and cons of rotating volunteers here. Certainly well worth a read. It is a challenging issue - we want volunteers who are commited and keen, but in today's society that may mean once or twice a month instead of every week. We want young people to have consistency but then they don't normally get that elsewhere so does it matter? Lots of interesting questions and issues.

For me it is about balance - having some volunteers who are there most weeks, in contrast of those who rotate around their schedule and other priorities.
