Martin Jol's £4m pay-off

Tuesday, September 25, 2007

It seems Martin Jol has had enough of the pressure from the board, and the knowledge that Spurs' have been constantly looking for a better manager, and has agreed a severance sum of £4m to leave the club.

The relationship has been in trouble since the start of the season. Despite spending masses, results have been poor and that Champions League place is already looking like it will be out of the club’s reach.

According to
The Mirror, he has secretly agreed a compensation package but will stay in charge until the club finds his replacement, which looks like another ill advised move by the Spurs board.

How will Spurs cope with a manager who knows he is about to be ousted? And, will the club’s money be enough to buy back the love of the club’s fans?

Seven games in - don't you think that's a bit earlier to be writing Tottenham off? I still reckon they will be up there competing for a champions league place come the end of the season. If not, they're bound to get a UEFA Cup place!
